Design Collaborative was approached to assist in the achievement of a development comprising a new brewery, bar and restaurant on Australia’s world-famous Bondi Beach. Providing supporting documentation and expert advice, Design Collaborative was able to secure our client a final mixed-use development comprising light industrial, restaurant and bar under existing shop-top housing elements within an area known for residential and police sensitivity to new hospitality offerings. 

Design Collaborative expertly balanced a heritage conservation focus with attention to social impact, acoustic and light-industrial manufacturing impacts and management of a licensed premises, among other practical, managerial and legal concerns. The application was a success and the cutting-edge development – to be called Curly Lewis – promises to bring a revitalising boost to the area’s leisure and hospitality landscape.
